Geeta Gandbhir (Director)

is an award winning director, producer and editor. As director, she won Best Documentary at the News and Doc Emmys for I AM EVIDENCE, an HBO Documentary Film, and Best Government and Politics Documentary for ARMED WITH FAITH, a PBS Documentary film. As editor, she won a Primetime Emmy for Best Editing for Spike Lee's HBO documentary series WHEN THE LEVEES BROKE and also for the HBO film BY THE PEOPLE, THE ELECTION OF BARACK OBAMA. A documentary film she co-produced, THE SENTENCE, for HBO, also won a Special Jury Primetime Emmy. In 2019 she directed the series WHY WE HATE with Amblin Entertainment and Jigsaw Productions for Discovery. Other award- winning feature docs she co-directed include PRISON DOGS which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and A JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES: PEACEKEEPERS which premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and aired on PBS. She created and is co-directing and co-producing a series on race with The New York Times Op-Docs titled The Conversation which won the AFI Documentary Film Festival and a MacArthur Grant. She also co-directed and edited the film, REMEMBERING THE ARTIST: ROBERT DENIRO SR. with Perri Peltz for HBO which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014. She has been the recipient of a Ford Foundation grant, a MacArthur Grant, among others, and in 2017, she was the recipient of Chicken and Eggs prestigious Breakthrough Filmmaker Award.

Jessica Devaney (Producer)

is a Brooklyn-based producer and the founder and president of Multitude Films. Her latest films include Netflix Original PRAY AWAY in partnership with Ryan Murphy and Blumhouse, Oscar-shortlisted CALL CENTER BLUES (TOPIC), and APART, an episode of the Sesame Workshop series THROUGH OUR EYES (HBO Max). She also produced Sundance award-winning and IDA-nominated ALWAYS IN SEASON (Independent Lens 2020), Livingston Reporting award-winning THE FEELING OF BEING WATCHED (POV 2019) dubbed “a real-world conspiracy thriller” by Variety, and Peabody-nominated ROLL RED ROLL (POV, Netflix 2019). Additional credits include Critic’s Choice-nominated SPEED SISTERS (Netflix), American Psychological Association award-winning LOVE THE SINNER (Amazon), and CALL HER GANDA (POV). Her films have screened at top festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, BlackStar, and Telluride. Jessica founded QueerDoc and the Queer Producers Network and was a Sundance Edit and Story Lab fellow, Women at Sundance fellow, and Sundance Creative Producing Lab advisor. She received DOC NYC and TOPIC’s inaugural 40 Under 40 Award and the 2019 Cinereach Producers Award.

Abraham Avila (Field Producer)

has lived in Tijuana, Mexico since 1995, developing projects focused on human mobility and migration in collaboration with production companies like Multitude Films, RYOT, Redrum Productions, Show of Force, SoulPancake, Tokyo Television, and Lumbrera Films. He has worked as an editor, screenwriter, and director, and his recent producing work includes CHECHE IAVI (Sam Ellison), HUMAN FLOW (Ai Weiwei), OAXACALIFORNIA (Trisha Ziff) and NAVAJAZO (Ricardo Silva). As a screenwriter for the film HERCULES, he was a fellow of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) in 2010 and of the Mexican Institute of Cinematography (IMCINE). He has taught film and cinema courses at IMCINE, École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts de Cergy-Pontoise (ENSAPC) in Paris, The Armory in Pasadena, California, and the Iberoamericana Santa Fé University in Mexico City.

Viridiana Lieberman (Editor)

is a filmmaker and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. She edited the feature documentary I AM EVIDENCE (Tribeca 2017, HBO), which won a 2019 News & Doc Emmy for Best Documentary and the short documentary LOVE THE SINNER (Tribeca 2017). She also co-directed FATTITUDE, a feature documentary that exposes how popular culture fosters fat prejudice and then offers an alternative way of thinking. She edited SPECIAL OLYMPICS: 50 YEARS OF CHANGING THE GAME which aired in 2018 on ABC and ESPN and THE SENTENCE (HBO), which won the 2018 Sundance Film Festival US Documentary Audience Award and the 2019 Emmy for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking. In 2019, she edited STONEWALL: THE MAKING OF A MONUMENT for New York Times Op-Docs.

Asad Faruqi (Director of Photography)

is a New York based Emmy Award Winning Cinematographer and Filmmaker from Pakistan. ARMED WITH FAITH (2018), a film that he produced, shot and co-directed, won Best Political and Government News and Documentary Emmy Award in 2018. Over the past 10 years Asad has lensed a number of award winning films around the world on topics ranging from critical social issues to violence, war and conflict. His cinematography credits include HBO’s Academy and Emmy Award Winning documentary shorts A GIRL IN THE RIVER (2016) and SAVING FACE (2012). Other notable works include NEW HOMELAND (2018), A JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES: PEACEKEEPERS (2015), SONG OF LAHORE (2015), and PAKISTAN’S TALIBAN GENERATION (2009), which garnered the Emmy and Alfred I. Dupont Award. Asad’s work has been featured onHBO, PBS, Channel 4, CBC, SBS, Arte among many others.
